Week 7 Results:

Saturday:

Bridge Ballers 41, Lincoln 37

In a well played and nip and tick game Bridge's ability to make free throws down the stretch was the difference. Mike Flemming and Bob Cahill lead the way all day long for Bridge as they held on against a very scrappy Lincoln team. Brandon Reagan again was a force inside for Lincoln and Anthony Carloni did an excellent job of getting into the lane. Lincoln (3-4) will be the #5 seed, Bridge ended the game awaiting their seed at 5-2

BOHICA 72, Flint Tropics 59

BOHICA came out on fire in the 7 PM game hitting 8 threes in the first half by 5 different players. Justin Aldrich and Brian Vayda paced the BOHICA team in scoring. While Joe McCann played his normal stat sheet filling game. The halftime score was 43-32 but Flint made a run in the second half behind Brian Collins and Rob Elliot hitting from outside and Rich Heller in the post. Vayda and Jordan Vander Baan provided strength on the boards and shot blocking and BOHICA held on for a 13 point win. Flint falls to 5-2 and losses the tiebreaker to Bridge Ballers making them the 4 seed. They will play in the 7 PM game on Sunday.

D & E Painting 46, Dutchmen 41

In a surprisingly excellent game D & E Painting held on to run their record to 6-1 and secure the one seed (with their win over BOHICA in week one giving them the tiebreak). Piotr Slanda was huge for Dutchmen in the second burying 3's and floaters. Shawn Howland and Rick LaPreiste got big baskets at big junctures for D & E and a few well timed Bob Chalmers 3's as well. Steve Dellarovere provided a solid floor game, the Dutchmen fall to 2-5 and will play Bridge in 3-6 game at 5 PM. D & E will face The Squad in the marque game at 8 PM


Week 6 Results:

Tuesday:
Flint Tropics 49, D & E Painting 41

Rob Elliot was the story tonight banging 4 threes in the first half and 5 overall to lead the (5-1) Flint Tropics to a toughly contested victory and throw a serious monkey wrench into the playoff scenario. D & E (5-1) was paced in defeat by Ricky Lapreste hitting from outside and Mike Keefe taking the ball to the rack. Chris Farrer did his normal excellent job on the boards. Doug Hall and Brian Collins provided solid guard play for Flint who are now the winners of 3 straight.

BOHICA 53, Bridge Ballers 45

Despie missing Captain Mike Flemming and inside presence Bobby Cahill The Bridge Ballers came out firing. Alex Curry and Josh Dutton lead them to a 11-3 lead to start the game. However BOHICA recovered behind the inside play of Brian Vayda and the end to end aggressiveness of Joey McCann. Bob Chipman kept Bridge close with a number of put backs and post moves but eventually the BOHICA squad wore them down. Jeff Lindgren had back to back baskets in a 10-0 run and Kris Johnson added a contested three to get the lead out to 15. Bridge would close to 8 but never get closer as these two strong clubs head towards the playoffs. BOHICA are now 5-1 and winners of 5 straight while The Bridge Ballers fall to 4-2.


Monday:
Dutchmen 48, The Squad 35

In a game that was tied 21-21 at the half The Dutchmen came out firing in the second half and outscored The Squad 27-14. Matt Pineau was aggressive in going to the rack and Pat Makridakis got going from outside. For The Squad Harvey Jackson and Dave Rahall played well. The Squad (0-7) are now assured of being the 8 seed and will play in the 8 PM game on Sunday. The Dutchmen (2-4) have locked up the 6 seed and will play in the 5 PM game on Sunday.

Lincoln Railsplitters 50, Woolies 33

The Lincoln Railsplitters (3-3) are clicking at the right time as Jack Mahoney and Brandon Reagan again were the dynamic duo in the 8 PM game. Brett Corey paced The Woolies from outside and Kyle Dean did his usual but of everything but Mahoney and Reagan were just too much. John Bertram attacked the rim and cleaned the glass for the Lincoln Club. Lincoln is looking at a probable 5 seed but can still sneak into a 4 with a win on Saturday and some serious help. The Woolies (1-6) have locked up the 7 seed and will play in the 6 PM game on Sunday.


Week 5 Results:

Woolies 51, The Squad 46

The early game tipped off at 4 PM and was a back and forth affair with The Squad really coming out and playing aggressive defense. Mike Howe lead the way early for The Squad with inside finishes and rebounds. On the perimeter Dave Rahall picked up where he left off the week before hitting from outside. For The Woolies Joe Reidy lead the way facing up around the foul line and Jay McKenne made plays in the open the floor. After being tied at the half The Squad ran out 8-3 to start the second half but Kyle Dean then took over for Millbury. Scoring from the mid range, rebounding and finding teammates Dean controlled the second for The Woolies. In fact he stole an inbounds pass with under a minute left to more or less seal the win for the previously winless Woolies. Both these teams would play 2nd games on the day.

Flint Tropics 58, Woolies 26

The Woolies showed the effects of their previous game as this one was never close. Brett Corey lead the way for the Woolies offensivley but there was just too much Tropics to handle. Doug Hall, Yvener St. Cyr and Rob Elliot all had standout games for the Tropics with Chase Milaneese and Rich Heller chipping in as well. St. Cyr lead all scorers in this one as The Tropics improve to 4-1 they will return to action Tuesday Night vs. The 5-0 D & E Painting Squad. The Woolies run their record to 1-5 and will conclude their regular season Monday against the Lincoln Railsplitters.

Bridge Ballers 53, Dutchmen 30

Mike Flemming got going early and lead the way offensively for the Bridge team. Josh Dunton and TJ Dolliver also got into the act as the Bridge Ballers outscored the Dutchmen 26-13 in the second half. For The Dutchmen Piotr Slanda and Matt Pineau lead the way. The Dutchmen also got solid floor play from Steve Dellarovere. Bob Chipman was impressive on the glass for the Bridge Ballers who are now 4-1 and will play the also 4-1 BOHICA club on Tuesday Night.

D & E Painting 57, Lincoln Railsplitters 33

D & E came out firing behind the quick first step of Dave Farrer and never looked back. Chris Farrer was formidable on the boards and Bob Chalmers gave them some nice things offensively. Shawn Howland who showed up more or less on time was a tough matchup for the undermanned Railsplitters who had a lot of trouble with his quickness in the half court. For Lincoln Jack Mahoney paced the offense and the rebounding effort. D & E advances to 5-0 and will face the Flint Tropics on Tuesday Night.

BOHICA 55, The Squad 36

BOHICA came out with high intensity defensivly and never looked back as they ran the floor well and defeated The Squad. Joe McCann and Kris Johnson lead the way defensivly forcing turnovers and getting numbers and Brian Vayda was there to finish just about everything as he lead the way for BOHICA. McCann played his normal solid floor game and Jordan Vander Baan added a solid effort. For The Squad Harvey Jackson and Steve Melendez did their best to try and get them back in the game, Jackson in particular did the bulk of their second half scoring. The Squad will conclude their regular season on Monday versus The Dutchmen while BOHICA will return to action and test their 4-1 record against the Bridge Ballers on Tuesday.

Lincoln Railsplitters 35, Dutchmen 31

The game of the night, without a doubt. Two teams playing their second game of the day combined for a heavyweight fight of a showdown. Jack Mahoney lead the offense for the Railsplitters again, but this time had the help of Brandon Regan in the post. For The Dutchmen Matt Pineau battled foul trouble but played well and Pat Makridakis found his scoring stride to challange for offensive honors. The Dutchmen came out ready to go on D and held Lincoln to 12 points in the first half. But in the second Mahoney, Regan and John Bertram got them back in the game. Bertram was huge down the stretch following an up and under and 1 with a contested 3 to score the Railsplitters final 6 points. Lincoln is now 2-3 while the Dutchmen fall to 1-4

Week 5 Player of The Week: Jack Mahoney, Lincoln Railsplitters. The lone brightspot in a bad loss followed by the undisputed leader in a big win. As goes Mahoney goes Lincoln.


Week 4 Results:

Dutchmen 44, Woolies 41

A Pat Makridakis 3 pointer with just about a minute to go gave The Dutchmen their first lead. The Woolies dominated the first half behind the inside/outside play of Kyle Dean, the playmaking of Paul King and the 3 point stroke of Brett Corey. The Woolies lead 32-23 at the half. However The Dutchmen turned up the D in the second half and Matt Pineau and Pioter Slanda carried the way offensively as they outscored the Woolies 21-9 in the second half. The Dutchmen run their record to 1-2 while the tough luck Woolies fall to 0-4.

Flint Tropics 65, The Squad 46

Flint came out strong behind the ball handling of Rob Elliot and the play of newcomer Doug Hill. The Squad countered from outside hitting 6 three pointers in the first half. Dave Rahall and Steve Melendez did the bulk of the hitting from outside. In the second half the play of Brian Collins and the inside work of Rich Heller put the Tropics up to stay combined with the scoring of Yve St. Cyr. The Tropics advance to 3-1 while The Squad falls to 0-4, but will face The Woolies next week where something has to give!

Bohica 41, Lincoln Railsplitters 33

Jack Mahoney lead the way for the Railsplitters with some help from Brandon Reagan and Mike Mahoney inside. For BOHICA Justin Aldrich and Jeff Lindgren got the ball moving in transition and Brian Vayda lead the way on the block. Brian Wood played his normal solid game at both ends and Scott Felper added 2 bombs from downtown. The Railsplitters got a solid second half out of Andrew Horan. Lincoln falls to 1-2 and BOHICA advances to 3-1.

D & E Painting 36, Bridge Ballers 29

The first half was an old fashioned gun battle between Dave Farrer of D & E Painting (9 first half points) and Josh Dunton (13 first half points). The Bridge team took the lead into the half of this marque game with the spread 21-16. D & E showed why they are the odds on favorite to win the league in the second half as Bob Chalmers lead the way from downtown and Jeff Burton was all over the floor getting to loose balls, scoring in the paint and rebounding. The Bridge was done in by only scoring 1 point in the first 8 minutes of the second half. Dunton ended the game with 17. Bridge falls to 3-1 while D & E still sits in first place at 4-0

Week 4 Player Of The Week: Brian Collins, Flint Tropics. Does a tremendous job of involving his teammates and also getting his own on the offensive end. Lead the way for Flint in their big victory over The Squad.

Week 3 Results:

BOHICA 71, Woolies 29

Genuine respect and admiration for the Woolies for coming down and playing despite a death in the family of Millbury Basketball. In the game which matters little BOHICA jumped out early and never looked back behind the scoring of Justin Aldrich (28) and Joe McCann (20). For Millbury Scott Elie and Paul King lead the way. The Woolies fall to (0-3) while BOHICA is now (2-1)

D&E Painting 56, The Squad 33

The Squad kept it close for a half behind the floor play of Steve Melendez and a solid team defensive concept. D & E went on a run after the half propelled by Bobby Chalmers and Dave Farrer. Shawn Howland and Mike Keefe also played well for D & E who runs their record to (3-0). The Squad falls to (0-3)

Bridge Ballers 39, Flint Tropics 27

The marque game of the night was as good as advertised as 2 undefeated teams played very well. Flint was playing with only 5, Bridge came out in a full court press and manipulated the tempo well. For Bride Mike Flemming lead the way with 21, TJ Dolliver had 8 including 2 huge 3s that swung momentum. For Flint Rich Heller was big inside and Rob Elliot kept them close with some long range 3s. Both teams will be heard from come playoff time. Records: Bridge (3-0), (Flint 2-1)

Week 3 Player of The Week: Justin Aldrich, BOHICA, Aldrich had 28 points in the early game and made the game never in doubt.

Week 2 Results:

BOHICA 57 , Dutchmen 47

BOHICA found it's way into the win column despite dressing only 5 players for the rare Saturday afternoon game. Joe McCann paced them from the floor and on the boards and Brian Wood scored in double figures for the first time on the year. Anthony Leonelli added 12 and Scott Felper contributed a few three pointers early. For The Dutchmen Matt Pineau again paced them offensively with Matty Pichel adding a few three pointers from outside. BOHICA is now at 1-1, The Dutchmen fall to 0-2

D & E Painting 58, Woolies 36

It was a ballgame for a half but a 16-3 D & E run spear headed by Dave Farrer and Rick Lapreiste opened the flood gates. Bob Chalmers was also sharpe from outside from outside and Brian Grady played his normal steady floor game. For the Woolies Joe Reidy had the hot hand from beyond the arc and in the post and Brett Corey continued his sharpe shooting particularly early. Special thanks to many members of The Woolies who helped prepare the court for game play. D & E improves to 2-0 while the Woolies are now 0-2

Flint Tropics 48, Lincoln Railsplitters 22

A badly outgunned Lincoln Railsplitters squad got down 12-1 to start the game and never recovered. For Flint Rich Heller was a handful inside and Robby Elliot had a number of spotscenter calbier passes and finishes. Chase Milaneese provided a solid inside prescense as well. For Lincoln Anthony Carloni got to the rim several times and Brandon Regan paced them scoring wise inside. Flint improves to 2-0, Lincoln falls to 1-1

Bridge Ballers 47, The Squad 24

It was a 4 point game at the half but The Bridge Ballers went on a 16-2 run to start the second half and refused to look back. Bridge was paced by Alex Curry and Mike Flemming attacking the rack and Bob Chipman showing an unexpected inside outside game. For the second straight week Harvey Jackson was the story for The Squad getting to the rim and also knocking down some three balls. Bridge runs it's record to 2-0. The Squad falls to 0-2

Week 2 Player Of The Week: Alex Curry, Bridge Ballers, Curry was dominant at both ends of the floor both as a scorer and also ballhawking in the press for Bridge. It is his first Player Of The Week Honor of the season.


Week 1 Results:

Lincoln Railsplitters 36, The Squad 25

In the first game in league history Lincoln downed The Squad by 11. The Flying Mahoney Brothers lead the way for Lincoln as Jack tallied 14 and Mike chipped in with 10. The Squad hit some early threes and showed on scrappy defensive tendencies and will not doubt be a force to be reckoned with in the league. Harvey Jackson lead the way with 10 points for The Squad.

Flint Tropics 36, Rik Smits Dunking Dutchmen 33

Chase Milanese's banked in 3 pointer at the buzzer lead the Tropics to their first victory over The Dutchmen in the 6 O'Clock game. The game was hotly contested and both teams are playoff threats for sure. The Tropics were lead by the inside-out tandem of Rich Heller inside and Brian Collins on the perimeter. The Dutchmen playing very short handed played an aggressive brand of D and were lead offensively by Matt Pineau who lead all scorers with 14. Steve Dellarovere added 8 points off the bench in a half of action.

Bridge Ballers 53, Woolies 46

After 2 games of lockdown D the offenses showed up for the 7 O'Clock game as the Bridge Ballers downed the Woolies 53-46. Mike Flemming was a handful for the Ballers getting into the lane at will, and TJ Dolliver helped to control the action at both ends of the floor. For the Woolies the story was Brett Corey who hit 5 threes. The Woolies hit 9 threes as a team to keep them close and will be trouble for anyone who deosn't get a hand up this year.

D&E Painting 61, BOHICA 45

Dave Farrer cemented his reputation as the toughest match up in the league by torching BOHICA inside and out on his way to 20. Shawn Howland got up and down in transition and Bob Chalmers was active on the glass at both ends as D & E simply had too much firepower for the BOHICA lads. Scott Felper kept the score reasonable for BOHICA by banging 5 threes and Justin Aldrich was a bright spot geting to the rim. Brian Wood was going to the glass in the defeat. D&E will return to action next week at 5 as the prohibitive favorite in the league.

Week One Player of The Week: Dave Farrer, D&E Painting. Lead his team to a blow out victory and played strong on both ends of the floor. It is his first Player Of The Week Award.
