The American Amigos pulled an upset handing the Youngbloodz their first loss of the season and leaving the BVBL with 0 undefeated teams. Parity is the name of the game in the BVBL. Kyle Minton had 30 and Cody Stone added 23. A Sam Merten (13 points) 3 ball late provided the margin of victory. For the Bloodz Jeremy Bacon had 22 and Evan Lerner 14 in the loss.
Gratata 73, Wet Bandits 68
Scorers score. Cory Pryor had 24 and Tyler Delory had 22 as Gratata heads towards the playoffs with a win. Jason Ganley kicked in 14 for the winners. The Bandits were paced by 25 from Dave Douiliette and 11 from Jakyri Simpson and the defending champs will certainly be a tough out in the playoffs.
Not Your Average Movers 61, Birdmen 45
The Movers used scrappy D and timely shooting to win their 5th game of the year. Dan Koen had 15 for The Movers while Dan Schweitzer had 16. Chris Vasquez chipped in 10. For the Birds Sam Fanfan had 18 and Jay Snow added 13. The Movers clinch the 2 seed in the North with the win.
Sweaty Bettys 73, The Replacements 31
Jessy Michaud (32 points) and Ryan Hill (17) lead the charge for the Bettys. Nate Smithson kicked in 12 for The Replacments as the Bettys wrap up in the 2 seed in the South with the W.
Leftover Lasagna 89, TC Performance 73
TC Performance got 24 from Colin London and 16 from Mike Verrichone (many of the highlight film variety) as well as 15 from Tom Casey but it was not enough as Leftover Lasagna is rounding into form with it's full roster. Matt Labove had 23 while Brian Conrad added 15 and Tom McLean 13 in the win. The Lasagna Guys lock up the 4 seed in the North, while TC Performance clinches the 7.
Shockers 70, Madmen 68
In a hotly contested game the Shockers held on for their third win. Jake Ramos paced the victors with 20 while Julio Leon dropped 13 in his old stomping grounds. The Madmen were lead by Cory Szklarz with 18 and Bob Chalmers with 11. The Shockers are the 5 seed in the South while Madmen are the 8.
BOHICA 110, 508 Athletics 73
In an offensive explosion BOHICA turned a 20-4 run to start the game into a 110-73 W. Eddie Capstick had 30 for BOHICA, Derek Retos had 26 largely from beyond the stripe and the high flying Chris Burton had 22. Joe McCann also had 16 for the winners. 508 was paced by Andrew Calzone with 17 and Cory Gomes with 14. BOHICA is the 1 seed in the North while 508 is the 5.
Filthy and Wet 65, Cellar Dwellers 63
The night game ended with a gem as Joey Mespelli (26) and Nate Bertand (19) lead Filthy and Wet to a big win heading into the playoffs. The Cellar Dwellers got 36 from Anthony Weeks and 16 from Josh Euglow in the defeat and still lock up the 3 seed in the south while F&W will be the 6.
North Player of the Week: Matt Labove Leftover Lasagna Had 24 in a pivotal win for the Leftover Lasagna squad.
South Player of the Week: Jake Ramos Shockers Had 20 in a big win for the Shockers.

American Amigos 68, Madmen 66
A Brian Collins threw from the right corner with the Amigos (3-3) trailing by one and time winding down was the difference in the 1 PM game. Collins ended with 14. Ben Reiffarth (10 points) and Kyle Minton (12 points) were also in double figures for the Amigos. The Madmen (1-5) were paced by Dave Farrer with 13 points and Chris Farrer with 11.
Shockers 59, Cellar Dwellers 37
The Shockers found the win column to run their record to 2-4 on the season. Jake Ramos (12) and Brandon Morales (12) lead a balanced attack for the victors. The Dwellers were paced by Doug Roberge with 19 and Josh Euglow with 11 and fall to 4-2.
Youngbloodz 54, Sweaty Bettys 43
The Youngbloodz remained the BVBL's only remaining unbeaten behind 13 from Jeremy Bacon, 12 from Evan Lerner and 11 from Derek Moore. The Bettys (4-2) were paced by Ryan Hill with 17 and Jessy Michaud with 13.
The Replacements 45, Filthy & Wet 30
The Replacements are riding a 2 game winning streak and are now (2-4). Nate Smithson lead the way with 17 points. while Erich Slagel kicked in 9. The F&W club is now (2-4) and were lead by Nate Bertand with 14.
BOHICA 73, Not Your Average Movers 62
A bloodied but not beaten Ryan Cain had 19 and Eddie Capstick added 19 and Derek Retos had 16 while Joey McCann (10) held down the defensive end for BOHICA as they improved to 5-1. The Movers were lead by Dan Schweitzer who had 18 and Jon Hazzard with 16 as they fall to (4-2).
508 Athletics 75, Gratata 68
A big win for a short handed 508 team to run their record to (3-3). Corey Gomes had 19 and Dan Tessier added 13 as 508 weathered all storms late. Gratata is now 2-4 and was lead by Cory Pryor with 20 and Jesus Moore with 16.
Wet Bandits 64, Leftover Lasagna 44
Mike Dzcieck had 18 while Dave Douiliette had 14 and Jakyri Simpson chipped in 13 as The Wet Bandits stayed in the win column and improved to 5-1. Leftover Lasagna fell to 3-3 despite 11 from David White and 11 from Tom McClean.
TC Performance 74, Birdmen 68
Two of the most decorated scorers in the history of the league locked up in the 8 PM game as Terrell Newton (26 points) lead TC Performance over Sam Fanfan (30 points) and the Birdmen. Newton was aided by Mike Verrichone (18 points and a number of above the rim plays) and Lloyd Kennedy (19 points). While Fanfan was assited by Niko Bryant (14), Jay Snow (12) and Brian Foley (10) all in double figures. Both teams now stand at 1-5 heading into week 7
South Player of the Week: Brian Collins American Amigos Helped keep the Amigos in it with his 14 and cranked the winner from the corner as time ran down.
North Players of the Week: Terrell Newton TC Performance. 26 Helped get the team in the win column for the first time.
Eddie Captsick BOHICA. Made huge plays early and late on his way to 19 points in a huge divisional win.

Sweaty Bettys 93, American Amigos 60
Despite 23 points from Ben Reiffarth the American Amigos were beaten soundly by Sweaty Bettys in the return of the 1PM game. Jessy Michuad poured in 37 for the victors while Ryan Hill added 14.
The Replacements 75, Shockers 61
Nate Smithson lead the charge with 33 points as The Replacements found the win column for the first time this year. The Shockers were paced by Jake Ramos with 24 and Julio Leon with 21.
Youngbloodz 48, Filthy and Wet 42 (OT)
OT Rockfight. Evan Lerner had 17 including the bucket that forced OT and Jeremy Bacon added 13 as The Youngbloodz remained undefeated. Filthy was paced by Joe Mespelli with 11 and Bob Cahill was 10.
BOHICA 88, Gratata 80
Eddie Capstick (26 points), Chris Burton (15 points) and Mike Palumbo (17 points) lead the way for BOHICA while Gratata fought until the end behind Tyler Delory's 22 points and Cory Pryors 15.
Wet Bandits 68, Birdmen 50
Justin Aldrich had 20 while Dave Douiliette chipped in 16 as the Bandits improved to 4-1. The Birdmen were lead by Sam Fanfan 17 and Niko Bryant with 15.
Not Your Average Movers 69, TC Performance 67
Junior De La Hoz (15) and Dan Koen (18) got the Movers out of a jam in the 6 PM game. Terrell Newton (24 points) made play after play but the Movers won the battle on the glass and held on. Arch Mitchell added 13 for TC Performance.
Leftover Lasagna 69, 508 Athletics 56
"House" Leftover Lasagna got hot from 3 point land in the 2nd half and took control of the game. Jeremy Ross had 23 and Eric Guglielmello had 18 in the victory. 508 got 15 from Dan Tessier and 11 from Andrew Calzone.
Cellar Dwellers 62, Madmen 53
Derek Sklarz had 19 and Dave Farrer had 15 but there was too much Doug Roberge (27 points) and Josh Euglow (21) and the Dwellers pulled away late. Ben Belcher chipped in 10 for the Madmen.
South Player of the Week: Nate Smithson Replacements. 33 points in his team's first victory.
North Player of the Week: Jeremy Ross Leftover Lasagna. 23 points and his second half shooting completely swung the game.

Cellar Dwellers 62, American Amigos 43
Despite 21 points from Kyle Minton The Amigos fell to 2-2 on the season as the Cellar Dwellers pulled away late. Doug Roberge (16), Josh Euglow (14) and Anthony Weeks (17) carried the offense for the Dwellers (3-1).
Gratata 83, Leftover Lasagna 68
Eric Guglimello had 29 in defeat for Leftover Lasagna (2-2) as Gratata (2-2) found their stride behind the scoring of Cory Pryor (35 points) and Connor O'Leary (16 points). Gratata took advantage of a shorthanded Leftover Lasagna roster and scored early and often in transition.
Not Your Average Movers 47, Wet Bandits 43
Dan Schweitzer lead the Movers with 13 as they pulled out a rockfight against the defending champs. Jon Hazzard added 8 for the Movers. The Wet Bandits got 14 from Dave Douliette and 12 from Mike Salis as they suffered their first loss of the season. This creates a logjam at the top of the North Division.
Sweaty Bettys 70, Filthy and Wet 42
Despite 13 from Colin Richey- Filthy and Wet fell to Sweaty Bettys who are riding a winning streak. The Bettys got 30 from Jessey Michaud and 14 from Ryan Hill. They improve to 3-1 while Filthy and Wet fall to 2-2
BOHICA 84, TC Performance 67
In a track meet disguised as a basketball game BOHICA outlasted TC Performance who were paced by Lloyd Kennedy inside with 27 points and Tom Casey outside with 15 including a few from Millville Road. Mike Verrichone chipped in 13 in the lost. BOHICA was paced by Ryan Sheehan with 30. Ryan Cain relegated to point guard duties by poor planning by his captain added 18 while Old Reliable Joey McCann posted 14.
Youngbloodz 84, Shockers 52
Derek Moore continued his high scoring ways with 23 points and Ian Converse added 13, while Evan Lerner kicked in 15 in a victory. The Bloodz remain the only undefeated team in the league. The Shockers were paced by Jake Ramos with 16 and Julio Leon with 15 in the defeat.
508 Athletics 76, Birdmen 66
Anthony Barry (26 points) and Chris Foley (13 points) lead the charge on both ends for 508 Athletics, while Captain Andrew Calzone had 10 including a big momentum swinging 3 in the second half to improve 508 to 2-2. The Birdmen got a signature Sam Fanfan night with 30 points and Brian Foley added a loud 23.
Madmen 66, The Replacements 31
Derek Szklarz had 21 points as the Madmen cruised to a victory in the nightcap. Nate Smithson chimed in with 17 for The Replacements.
South Player of the Week Jessy Michaud Sweaty Bettys Had 30 points in a decisive midday victory for the surging Bettys
North Player of the Week Cory Pryor Had 35 which is the current season high for the league in a big win over Leftover Lasagna.

Filthy and Wet 68, American Amigos 63
Filthy and Wet hung around throughout and prevailed late behind the inside outside attack of Joey Mespelli (19 points) and Darren Moore (10 points). They held off the hard charging Amigos paced by Cody Stone (20 points) and Sam Merten (16 points). Poor shot selection and rebounding did in the Amigos as F&W attacked late!
Cellar Dwellers 64, The Replacements 33
Andrew Calzone had 22 for the Replacements but it wasn't nearly enough as the Dwellers offense was clicking today at the new look Mendon Park. Doug Roberge (22 points), Josh Euglow (21 points) and Anthony Weeks (13) lead the charge for the Dwellers.
Birdmen 69, Gratata 60
The Birdmen got into the win column behind the outstanding play of Niko Bryant (17 points) and Brian Foley (14) and the prolific scoring of Jay Snow (29 points). They attacked early and often and held off a few Gratata runs. Cory Prior had 17 in defeated while Jason Ganley kicked in 14.
Wet Bandits 73, TC Performance 62
The Wet Bandits got a turn back the clock performance from Justin Aldrich (20 points) and solid production from Everyday Dave Douiliette (12 points) and Danny Laroche (11 points) as they held off TC Performance. Terrell Newton had 20 for TC Performance who also got 15 from team namesake Tom Casey who hit a 3 that could have reasonably been called a 4 in the second half.
Not Your Average Movers 56, 508 Athletics 50
Despite the best efforts of Anthony Berry (25 points) 508 Athletics fell to a depleted Not Your Average Movers team in the 6 PM game. Dan Schweitzer had 20 for The Movers while Quincy Nunnally added 14 and Dan Koen chipped in 12.
BOHICA 67, Leftover Lasagna 58
Playing without a number of regular contributors Leftover Lasagna held tough behind the scoring of Eric Guglimello who had 28. Jeremy Ross chipped in 19 as well. BOHICA had a balanced scoring attack featuring the handy work of Ryan Sheehan (20), Eddie Capstick (11), Zach Valliere (16), and Ryan Flynn (10)
Youngbloodz 55, Madmen 51 (DOUBLE OT)
As time ran down in regulation Mark Devries hit his only basket of the game for the Youngbloodz to force overtime as they solider backed. In the 2nd OT Derek Moore (20) lead the charge for the Bloodz has they remained undefeated. A Jeremy Bacon (14 points) runout dunk clinched it for them late. The Madmen were lead by Cory Sklarz with 13, Derek Sklarz with 11 and Dave Farrer with 11.
Sweaty Bettys 70, Shockers 48
Sweaty Bettys got 21 from Jessy Michaud and 16 from Ryan Hill as they pulled away in the 9 PM game. The Shockers were paced by Jake Ramos' 18 points and Chuck "Sosa" Martel who added 10 as well as Julio Leon with 14.
North Player of the Week: Jay Snow, Birdmen 28 points in the teams first win will earn you a POTW nod most of the time!
South Player of the Week: Derek Moore, Youngbloodz Got all over the glass and scored 20 to keep the Youngbloodz undefeated.

American Amigos 51, The Replacements 49
In a donnybrook of an opener to Father's Day Sunday the American Amigos held on for a hard fought victory. Colin Carr paced the Amigos by getting literally every important rebound. Kyle Minton had 13 for the Amigos and Cody Stone chipped in 9. The Replacements were lead by Danny Suarez with 15. Nate Smithson contributed 10. The Amigos move to 2-0 and will take on Filthy and Wet next week. While The Replacements are now 0-2 and will tangle with The Cellar Dwellers.
Youngbloodz 48, Cellar Dwellers 41
The Youngbloodz utilized a balanced attack to pull out a victory in the 3 PM tilt. Mark Devries kicked in 17 while Connor Costello added 10. Ian Converse also had 9 for the Bloodz. Anthony Weeks had 18 for the Dwellers while Doug Roberge added 12. The Dwellers (1-1) will take on The Replacements next week- The Bloodz will face up with the Madmen in a generational tilt.
Not Your Average Movers 70, Gratata 47
Brandon Jones (15), Quincy Nunnally (16), Danny Koen (12) and Dan Sweitzer (12) lead a balanced scoring attack for Not Your Average Movers as they got back in the win column.
Gratata was paced by Jason Ganely with 10 and Stephan Mascarielli with 12. Gratata will face The Birdmen next week, and The Movers will tangle with 508 Athletics.
Shockers 58, Filthy and Wet 49
Darren Moore (21 points) had a great effort in the paint for Filthy and Wet, but The Shockers claimed their first win in BVBL play with 15 from Ian Haire and 12 from Julio Leon. The Shockers will tangle with Sweaty Bettys next week while Filthy and Wet will face the surging Amigos.
Wet Bandits 54, BOHICA 53
The defending champs pulled out another dogfight as Chris Burton's attacking layup at the buzzer failed to go and the Bandits pulled out the W. They were lead by the outside shooting of Mike Salis with 11 and the activity of Dan LaRoche who had 13. BOHICA got 17 from Ryan Flynn and 17 from Ryan Sheehan. They will return to action next week against Leftover Lasagna while The Bandits will play TC Performance.
508 Athletics 56, TC Performance
Anthony Barry (25 points) and Dan Tessier (14) lead the charge for 508 Athletics as they found the win column for the first time on the year. Terrell Newton kept TC Performance in the game with 18 and Lloyd Kennedy chipped in 18 in the loss. TC will take on Wet Bandits next week. While 508 Athletics will play Not Your Average Movers.
Sweaty Bettys 55, Madmen 51
Matt Connolly 15, and Ryan Hill (13) lead the way for Sweaty Bettys in their first win of the year. Kyle Smith chipped in 12 in the W. The Madmen got 18 from Corey Sklarz in the defeat. Swety Bettys will play The Shockers next week, while The Madman will take on The Youngbloodz.
Leftover Lasagna 62, Birdmen 55
Eric Guglimello had 17 while Brian Conrad added 10 as Leftover Lasagna improved to 2-0 on the young season. They also got formidable play on the boards from fan favorite Chad LaBove. Meanwhile, The Birdmen got 17 from Jeremy Bridge and 16 from Jay Snow. They will return to action next week against Gratata while Leftover Lasgagna will take on BOHICA.
South Player of the Week: Mark Devries Youngbloodz. Had 17 points and had an answer every time the game got close.
North Player of the Week: Anthony Barry, 508 Athletics. 25 in a closely contested game will get you the POTW most weeks.
6/8 Results
American Amigos 67, Shockers 53
In the opening game of the 2014 BVBL season- the newly retooled American Amigos held on for a 67-54 over the expansion Shockers. The Shockers were paced by Julio Leon with 14 points and Ian Haire with 13. The Amigos got offense from Sam Merten (19), Kyle Minto (13) and Jack Mahoney (11). The Shockers will return to action next week against Filthy & Wet while- the Amigos will face The Replacements.
Leftover Lasagna 54, Not Your Average Movers 46
The expansion Leftover Lasagna squad jumped onto the scene with a 54-46 win over traditional power Not Your Average Movers. Eric Guglimelo had 13 for Leftover while Matt Labove added 14 and David White and Jeremy Ross both chipped in 12. The Movers were paced by Junior De La Hoz and Dan Koen with 10 a piece. The Movers will return to action next week against Gratata while Leftover Lasagna will square up with The Birdmen.
Youngbloodz 82, The Replacements 50
The Youngbloodz utilized a balanced attack lead by Ryan Sullivan (17 points) and Marc Devries (14 points) to stymy The Replacements. Jeremy Bacon, Ian Converse and Evan Lerner were also in double figures for the Bloodz. The Replacements were paced by the offensive explosion of Danny Suarez who had 26 in the victory. YoungBloodz return to action next week against the Cellar Dwellers while The Replacements will battle The Amigos.
Cellar Dwellers 66, Sweaty Bettys 37
Newcomer Anthony Weeks (21 points) lead the Dwellers to an opening week victory. Tim Fitzgerald added 10 and Doug Roberge 9 as the Dwellers cruised in the 5 PM game. Sweaty Bettys were paced by 15 from Kyle Smith. The Dwellers will take on the Youngbloodz next week while Bettys will face The Madmen.
Gratata 74, TC Perfomance 66
The quasi expansion Gratata team got their first W behind the strong play of Corey Pryor (19 points), Jason Ganley (18 points) and Jesus Moore (14 points). TC Perfomance has lead by the ever dynamic Terrell Newton with 27 and Jutsin Nieves with 15. Lloyd Kennedy added 18 as well. Gratata will return to action next week against Not Your Average Movers- while TC Performance will face 508 Athletics.
BOHICA 72, Birdmen 61
New additions Ryan Flynn (24 points) and Zach Valliere (10 points) and old standby Ryan Cain (18 points) lead the charge for BOHICA as they held off a short handed by hard charging Birdmen squad. Jay Snow (17 points) and Brian Foley (17 points) lead the way and Derek Johnson had 12 in the defeat. The Birdmen will return to action next week against Leftover Lasagna and BOHICA will square up with the Wet Bandits.
Wet Bandits 59, 508 Athletics 38
The defending champs picked right up where they left off expanded a 2 point halftime lead into a runaway victory. Dave Douillette had 18 and Mike Salis 14 as the Bandits pulled away in the second half. 508 got 17 from Anthony Barry and 9 from Dan Tessier. 508 will face TC Performance next week while Wet Bandits will face BOHICA is a rivalry game.
Filthy & Wet 45, Madmen 38
Despite the efforts of Bobby Chalmers (12) and Chris Farrer (13) The Madmen feel to Bobby Cahill (12), Nate Bertrand (12) and the revamped Filthy & Wet squad in the night cap. F&W will return to action against The Shockers while The Madmen will take on Sweaty Bettys.
South Player of the Week: Anthony Weeks, Cellar Dwellers. Dropped 21 in his BVBL debut and lead his squad to victory.
