Amigo Basketball Club 79, Tropical Thunder
Cory McGreal had 17 points and Lucas Beder had 23 but it wasn't enough to stem the Amigo tide. Kennedy Assaire had 28 for the Amigos, and Stef Mascirelli chipped in 22 as the Amigos locked up a FIRST ROUND BYE with their 5-2 record with 6 points. Tropical Thunder returned to action in the following game
Tropical Thunder 49, Dawgs 48
In a "you had to be there to believe it" ending. Tropcial Thunder notched their first win in ridiculous fashion. The Dawgs were up 4 shooting a 1 and 1 with 11 seconds to go. The front end was missed. Tropical got it down the floor and got a quick bucket. Here is where the chaos began...Dawgs actually could have let the clock run out, and Tropical for some reason wasn't calling time out. The Dawgs inbounded long for reasons unclear and a deflected the ball high into the air. With a second remaining Jack Temptesta hauled it in and heaved 45 footer as time expired...it banked through giving Tropical Thunder their first W and keeping the Dawgs out of playoff eontention. These 2 teams will meet in the Flint Michigan Mega Bowl on on Aug 22.
H1and1 36, Washed Up Ballers 33
Corey Matthews had 15 for H1and1 and Doug Roberge had 15 for Washed Up in a rockfight in the 3PM game. H1 clinches the 11 spot in the playoffs while Washed up gets in at the 12 seed.
BOHICA 62, Leftover Lasagna 59
Another instant classic between 2 of the most storied franchises in BVBL History. Dom Mastascusa had 22 for Leftover who held a 13 point lead in the first half. BOHICA closed the gap behind the play of Jeff Hunter (19) and Nate Stitchell (11). Eric Guglielmello (12) and Kyle McKissick (11) got it going for Leftover late, but some clutch shooting by Bobby Perrette (13) helped put the game out of reach for BOHICA. BOHICA at 7-0 clinches the #1 overall seed.
Leftover Lasagna 77, Runners 54
Leftover had to immeadiatly answer the bell against a strong Runners team and made a statement with a 20 point win. Kyle McKissick had 22 and Joey Barillo added 17- Dom Mastascusa added to his big day with another 11 as Leftover had an answer for everything the Runners threw at them. The Runners got 20 from Justin Feliciano. They will enter the playoffs as the 8 seed, while Leftover will be the 7.
Lancers 73, 146 Hybird 70
Sutton got 20 from Tommy Mooney as well as 13 from Jared Buffone and 12 from Jack Margoupis- the game was 70-70 with 6 seconds to go when Sam Dion (11) banged a 3 at the horn to send the Lancers home winners. They got 16 from Tayjuan Mckenzie and 19 from Dan Libertore in the victory.
Champs 65. Lancers 61
Playing without Maurice Horton who is out for the year and one of the great competitors in the history of the league. The Champs held on to pull out a hard earned win. Young Buck Freddy Siayor had 20 and Josh Wells had a big 17 points as the Champs held off Tayjuan Mckenzie (25) and the Lancers. The Lancers are 9 the seed, while the Champs lock up the 2.
Misty Geebs 59, Champs 52
Josh Wells (16 points) again lead the charge for the Champs, but they ran into the 2 headed monster of Alo Wenja (17) and Asong Leke (15) and Misty Geebs with a huge win that propells them all the way to the 5 seed in the Playoffs. The Champs hold onto the 2.
South Player of the Week: Corey Matthews, H1and1, His 15 points made the difference as H1 held off Washed Up
North Player of the Week: Dom Mastascusa Leftover Lasagna, Huge performance in the loss to BOHICA and another strong one in the win over the Runners.

H1and1 74, Amigo Basketball Club 55
Corey Matthews had 25 points and Jake Rawlings kicked in 15 as H1and1 saved themselves from Mega Bowl consideration with a victory over the ABC. Kennedy Assaire continued his excellent season with 22 points and John Jango added 16 in defeat. H1 will take on Washed Up next week, while Amigos will tangle with Tropical Thunder.
Uncle Dan and the Beaver Clan 61 , Washed Up Ballers 36
Uncle Dan and the Beaver Clan have won 5 straight and due to some weather luck are already in the barn at 5-2. Corey Gomes had 13 while Ian Haire lead the way with 17. Nate Davilla added 17 of his own for the balanced Beaver attack. Chris Chico had 10 in defeat for the Washed Ballers who will face off with H1and1 next week.
BOHICA 74, 146 Hybrid 68
It took a late game dagger three from Tyler Hundley (13 points) for BOHICA to stave off the upset bid by the hard charging Hybrid. Tommy Mooney had 31 and Ashton Grennon added 14 as 146 gave BOHICA all they could handle. Jeff Hunter (20) and Nate Stitchell (10) lead the charge for BOHICA. BOHICA will play Leftover next week in a rivalry game. While 146 Hybrid will take on the Lancers.
Misty Geebs 67, Size Matters 58
Dan Libertore had 17 and Sam Morelli had 14 as Misty Geebs finally got to play a game. They will conclude next week with The Champs, while Size Matters is in the Barn at 4-3.
North Division Player of the Week. Tom Mooney, 146 Hybrid. 31 points in a tough loss, but he carried his team at times one of the best performances of the year.
South Division Player of the Week. Ian Haire, Uncle Dan and the Beaver Clan. A 17 point effort in the ball club's 5th straight win.

Size Matters 84, H1and1 67
H1and1 got 25 from Corey Matthews and 11 from Ryan Hill as they fell to Size Matters in a rain delayed contest. Size got 18 from captain Tyler Dion and 18 from Joey Nuttall. Size will conclude their season next week with Misty Geebs while, H1 will tangle with the surging Amigos.
Uncle Dan and the Beaver Clan 50, Runner 43
Uncle Dan is on a 4 game win streak. Tyler Serafin (15) and Ian Haire (15) carried the offense as Uncle Dan posted a big divisional win. Sam Monette had his usual big week with 18 for the Runners. The Runners conclude their regular season next week with Leftover while Uncle Dan will finish up with Washed Up.
Washed Ballers 36, Dawgs 35
A pitchers dual in the nightcap as the Washed Ballers avoid the Mega Bowl. Keys had 10 for the Ballers, who will take on H1and1 next week. Reid Miller posted 16 in defeat for the Dawgs who will play Tropical Thunder next week.

The Fourth of July layoff did nothing to stop the surging ABC as they ran off their 4th straight win. Kennedy Assaire (23 points) lead the charge for the Amigos as Nate Manz dropped in 17. The Geebs got 22 from Sam Morrelli in defeat. Geebs will lock up with Size Matters next week, while ABC will take on H1and1.
Uncle Dan and the Beaver Clan 73, Tropical Thunder 43A
Uncle Dan rides a 3 game streak after downing Tropical Thunder. Ian Haire had 17 and Corey Gomes 14 in the win for Uncle Dan. They will return to action next week against The Washed Up Ballers. Tropical Thunder got 11 from Preston Daughtery in the defeat. They will play the Dawgs next week.
Size Matters 69, 146 Hybrid 61
Joe Sekator (17 points) and Matt Morrow (26 points) were the offensive standouts as Size Matters held off 146 Hybrid. The Grennon Family did the bulk of scoring for 146 as Tre had 14, Austin chipped in 12 and Bryson 15. Size Matters is in prime position for a good playoff spot as they tangle with Misty Geebs next week, while 146 will battle first place BOHICA.
Runner 64, Dawgs 49
Antonio Becceril had 24 points and Sam Monette added 14 as the Runners held off the Dawgs. Dawgs got 16 from Ian Strom in defeat. They will battle Tropical Thunder next week, while Runners will play Leftover Lasagna.
Leftover Lasagna 75, Lancers 72
The Lancers got 12 from Dan Libetore and 13 from John Adams, but fell to the clutch play late of Leftover Lasagna. Matt Labove (15 points), Connor Brown (17 points) and Kyle McKissick (20) lead the charge for Leftover who is making their customary late season push. They will face the Runners next week, while Lancers will tangle with The Champs.
BOHICA 62, Champs 57 (OT)
This one had everything you want in a first place battle. Zach Valliere (14) established himself early for the champs, but Jeff Hunter (13) went toe to toe with him in the post. Josh Wells (10) hit some huge shots to keep the Champs in the game, while Nate Stitchell (15) lead the BOHICA offense. Maurice Horton (12) buried 2 huge 3s in the second half to nearly swing the game but the crafty down the stretch play by Tyler Hundley (9) and Dre Kontaplidis (11) helped BOHICA squeak it out in OT. Champs will face the Lancers next week, while BOHICA has 146 Hybrid.
North Division player of the Week: Connor Brown, Leftover Lasagna, hit 5 3s and all of them at big times to defeat a pesky Lancer team.
South Division player of the Week: Antonio Becceril, Runners, 24 points as the Runners pulled away in the second half.

Amigo Basketball Club 62, Washed Up Ballers 55
Kennedy Assaire (21 points) and Ben Reiffarh (16) held off the Washed Up Ballers to run the Amigos to their third straight W. Washed Up got 10 from Chris Chico in a tighter game than the final indicates. ABC will face Misty Geebs in a crossover game on the 11th, while Washed Up will take on H1and!
Misty Geebs 52, 146 Hybrid 48
Misty Geebs found the win column with 11 from Asong Leke and a clutch 9 from Captain Kevin Bresciani as the Geebs get their first W. 146 got 23 from Tommy Mooney and was playing short a few guys. They will take on Size Matters next week, while Misty will tangle with the Amigos.
Runners 64, H1and 45
Sam Monette (26) continued to be among the highest scorers in the league, and Antonio Becceril chipped in 12 as the Runners coasted to a divisional win. H1and1 got 15 from Corey Matthews in the loss. They will face Washed Up next week, while the Runners will play the Dawgs.
BOHICA 84, Lancers 64
Aaron Nkrumah (20) and Alex Momo 14) lead the charge for the Lancers but BOHICA was too balanced. All 5 starters were in double figures as Jeff Hunter (21) and Dre Kontaplidis (16) controlled the front court while Sam Longwell (19), Nick Redden (13) and Brett Stark (13) were also effiicent putting it in the hole. Lancers will play Leftover next week- BOHICA has The Chanps.
Uncle Dan and the Beaver Clan 61, Dawgs 43
Uncle Dan has won 2 in a row. Corey Gomes (17) and Nate Davilla (18) were the primary scorers for the Beaver Clan. The Dawgs were lead by Ian Strom with 11. The game was 28-28 at the half but Uncle Dan caught fire in the second half. They will play Tropical Thunder next week, while the Dawgs get the Runners.
Champs 74, Tropical Thunder 47
Zach Valliere (20) and Maurice Horton (13) as well as Danny Koen (13) started hot and stayed hot as The Champs got the win in the 8P matchup. Lucas Beder had 11 for the Tropical Gang who wil take on Uncle Dan next week. Meanwhile The Champs face BOHICA in a first place battle.
Week 4 Player of the Week Northern Division Jeff Hunter, BOHICA 21 points and controlled the boards in a big win for BOHICA.
Week 4 Co Players of the Week Southern Division Kennedy Assaire Amigo BasketbalL Club 21 points and some big buckets down the stretch in a game that cements the Amigos as a playoff team. Nate Davila Uncle Dan 19 points in a game that helps create seperation in the standings.

Amigo Basketball Club 83, Dawgs 70
The Amigo Baskteball Club is on a 2 game winning streak ladies and gentlmen. Stef Mascirelli had 29 points to lead the Amigo charge and Kennedy Assaire had 21. Nick Walker had 18 for the Dawgs. The Dawgs will tangle with Uncle Dan next week, while ABC will take on Washed Up.
Runners 85, Tropical Thunder 49
The Runners continue their undefeated ball with a victory over Tropical Thunder. Sam Monette had 25 for the Runners while Antonio Becceril threw in 22 in the win. Tropical Thunder got 14 from Lucas Beder. The Thunder Buddies return to action next week against The Champs, while Runners will take on H1and1.
Uncle Dan and the Beaver Clan 60, H1and1 50
Corey Gomes and his 25 points were the differnece for Uncle Dan in thier first win of the year. Ian Haire played a capable Robin to Gomes' Batman with 18 of his own. The H1 squad got 21 from Corey Matthews and 12 from Ned Linahan in defeat. H1and1 has Runners next week, while Uncle Dan has the Dawgs.
Champs 72, Leftover Lasagna 50
The Champs have cemented themselves as team to beat here. Zach Valliere had 26 and Kamahl Walker added 19 as the Champs cruised in the second half. Leftover got 10 from Eddie Capstick. Champs will face Tropical Thunder next week, while Leftover tangles with Size Matters.
Lancers 78, Misty Geebs 59
John Adams had 22 for the Lancers and Sam Dion chipped in 8 3s and 28 points in the win. Luke Cowan had 20 for Misty Geebs. The Geebs gang will take on 146 Hybrid next week, while Lancers will play BOHICA.
BOHICA 90, Size Matters 69
Andreas Kontaplidis (33), Nate Stitchell (20), and Brett Stark (19) carried the freight for a short handed BOHICA as they held off Size Matters. Size Matters was also missing key components but got 18 from Matt Morrow and 16 from Joe Sekator in defeat. Size Matters will take on Leftover next week, while BOHICA has the Lancers.
146 Hybrid 58, Washed Up Ballers 42
The book left a lot to be desired in this game, but as nearly as I can tell Tre Grennon had 15 and Washed Up had a balanced attack and hung around for about a half. 146 is facing Misty next week while Washed Up returns to it's own division to play the Amigos.
Week 3 Player of the Week North: Andreas Kontaplidis BOHICA, 33 points for the win in a game with huge standings implications.
Week 3 Player of the Week South: Corey Gomes, Uncle Dan and the Beaver Clan, 25 points in a break through win for the Beaver Clan.

Amigo Basketball Club 65, Uncle Dan and the Beaver Clan 62
Nate Manz made his Amigo debut a memorable one with 21 points, he got assistance from Stef Mascirelli (13) as the Amigos held on late to a 65-62 victory. The Uncle Dan squad was paced by Corey Gomes with 26. ABC will return to action next week against the Dawgs in a battle of (1-1) teams while Uncle Dan will attempt to find the W column against H1and1.
H1and1 81, Tropical Thunder 51
John Verrone's hot shooting (24 points) made it respectable for Tropical Thunder but H1and1 had too much going behind the inside out scoring of Cory Matthews (27 points) and shooting of Jordan Johnson (20). H1and1 will try to move into the top half of the division vs Uncle Dan next week, while Tropicla Thunder will search for W #1 against The Runners.
Runners 62, Washed Up Ballers 45
Antonio Becceril (21 points) and Sam Monette (24) paced the Runners to their second straight win. Justin Keyes (9) and Chris Chico (9) paced the Washed Up Ballers. The Washed Up will face 146 Hybird next week, while Runners will take on Tropcial Thunder.
146 Hybrid 61, Leftover Lasagna 59
The Flying Grennon Brothers as well as Tommy Mooney (19 points) lead the chagre for the 146 Hybrid as they knocked off perrenial contender Leftover Lasagna. Bryson Grennon (15) made some plays down the stretch and Sutton held on. Leftover got 12 from Eddie Capstick, 11 from Kyle McKissick, and 10 from Eric Guglielmello in the defeat. They will return to action next week against Champs, while 146 Hybrid will cross play against the Washed Up Ballers.
Champs 58, Size Matters 49
Maurice Horton (21) and Zach Valliere (14) were too much for Size Matters as they had an answer anytime Size mounted a charge. Joey Nutall had 12 for Size Matters in a well played 6P game. Champs will face Leftover next week, while Size Matters gets BOHICA.
BOHICA 100, Misty Geebs 59
Bobby Perette (26), Dre Kontaplidis (24) and Tyler Hundley (16) Nate Stitchell (16) and Nick Redden (10) all found double figures for BOHICA. Misty Geebs got 17 from Sammy Lawrence in defeat. BOHCA has Size Matters next week.
Lancers 89, Dawgs 26
The Lancers used the highflying attack of Aaron Nkurmah (28 points) and Tijuan McKenzie (19) and Orlando Thompson (15) to down the Dawgs in the nightcap. Dawgs got 11 from Reid Miller. Dawgs will take on Amigos next week, while Lancers will face Misty Geebs in the Dan Libertore bowl.
Week 2 Player of the Week Northern Division Tommy Mooney 146 Hybrid Did damge inside and out as 146 Hybird got their first win of the week. 19 point effort in the game of the week.

Runners 51, Amigo BasketbalL Club 44
The Runners welcomed themselves to the BVBL with a 51-44 win over the always venerable Amigo BasketbalL Club. Sam Monette (18 points) paced the Runners with Antonio Becceril (12) also a key offensively. The Amigos were lead by Stef Mascirelli with 18 and Joey Mespelli with 13. The Runners will face Washed Up Ballers in Week 2 while ABC will face Uncle Dan and The Beaver Clan
Washed Up Ballers 50, Tropical Thunder 44
Derek Pennie (19) and Doug Roberge (14) and Nick Atwood (10) were a 3 headed monster as the Washed Up Ballers prevailed over Tropical Thunder. The Thunder gang got 9 from Cory McGreel in the loss. Washed Up took a 28-13 lead into halftime before the Thunder Group got it going in the second half and made a game out of it. Washed Up Ballers will face Runners in Week 2 while Tropical Thunder will face H1and1.
Dawgs 45, h1and1 35
A balanced attack headlined by Shea Finnegan (9 points) and Reed Miller (9 points) lead the Dawgs to their first BVBL victory as they held off the always scrappy H1and1 team. H1and1 got 9 from Ryan Hill and 8 from Ned Linahan and their name was a lot funnier before COVID. THey will return to play against Tropical Thunder next week while The Dawgs will get a taste of the North Division as they host the Lancers.
Letfover Lasagna 53, Misty Geebs 47
Misty Geebs hit 5 threes early to open up a double digit lead, but Leftover Lasagna came storming back behind Eddie Capstick (15) and Erric Guglielmello (12) as they found their stride in the second half. Asong Leke (11) and Dan Libertore (15) shot the ball well for Geebs. Geebs will return to action with BOHICA in Week 2 while Leftover will tangle with 146 Hybrid.
Champs 65, 146 Hybrid 53
The returning Champs got their 2019 Champions tee shirts and fought off the scrappy 146 Hybrid to start the young season 1-0. Zach Valliere is still really tall even after the long layoff and he played well with 17 points. Kamahl Walker in addition to keeping his human baby alive the entire game had 16 points. Collin London added 12. 146 got 13 from Wilson Aybar and 13 from Bryson Grennon they wil face Leftover next week, while the Champs will face Size Matters.
Size Matters 84, Lancers 80
Size Matters announced their arrival with authority as Matt Morrow (24 points) and Marcos Echiverra (20 points) and Joe Sekator (16 points including some highlight real dunks) held off the Lancers in the 7P game. The Lancers got 22 from Alex Momo and 21 from Sam Dion in their BVBL debuts. The Lancers will face the Dawgs next week, while Size Matters will face the Champs.
BOHICA 76, Uncle Dan and the Beaver Clan 62
Uncle Dan was up the challange as Kenny Seitz (12) and Corey Gomes (10) paced their efforts. BOHICA got 23 from free agent signing Jeff Hunter and Sam Longwell (14) and Andreas Kontaplidis (13) played well, as Nick Redden (9) shot the ball well in victory. Uncle Dan will face the Amigos back in the South Divison next week, while BOHICA will tangle with Misty Geebs.
