A furious Monstars comeback spearheaded by Julio Leon (18) and Kenny Seitz (22) actually gave them the lead late in the game by a huge 3 by Ryan Bellan (21 points) sent the game to OT where Doug Roberge (22) helped them square away the game. Josh Euglow added 17 in the victory for the Chargers who have not lost since week 1.

Derek Moore (20 points) as well as Ian Converse (16 ponts) and Jeremy Bacon (15) lead The Youngbloodz to a hard fought victory over 508 Athletics. 508 got 25 from Jesse Maresca.

Drew Rolfe (15 points), Derek Johnson (10 points) and Kevin Bresciani (8 points) and the Bandits held on for the W against Whitewater. Whitewater was paced by Andrew Musler with 13 and Matt Gustas with 14.

Alan Williams (32 points) and the nWo held off the Birdmen for a big win for playoff seeding. Arch Mitchell kicked in 20 in the victory. The Birdmen were paced by Sam Fanfan with 20 as well as Brian Foley with 14.

Leftover Lasagna hopped out to an early lead behind the play of Dom Mastascusta (15 points) and Eric Gugeilemello (12 points), but there was too much BOHICA offense in the second half as Sam Longwell (23) and Ryan Sheehan (21) lead a hyper balanced BOHICA attack. BOHICA wraps up the 1 seed, while Leftover grabs the 2.

The Madmen were bolstered by the play of Mike Keefe (17 points) and Dave Farrer (13 points) and got back in the win column with the 9pm win. Andrew Calzone had 24 for Young and Smart while Erich "Lou Diamond Phillips" Slagel had 9.
South Player of the Week: Alan Williams, nWo, Hard to argue with 32 in a big win over a previous undefeated team.
North Player of the Week: Sam Longwell, BOHICA, Had 23 in a game that clinched the 1 seed against a high quality opponent.

The day started with an upset as the Amigos lead by the hard charging play of Ben Reiffarth (14 points) and the volume shooting of Sam Merten (19 points) coupled with a crafty 2-3 zone. Mike Keefe (11), Jason Beard (10) and Pat Luckett (8) lead the charge for the Madmen. The Amigos 2nd win may keep them out of the Mega Bowl!
Young and Smart 49, Salt and Pepper 48
Despite 27 points from Jessy Michaud- Salt and Pepper fell to the suddenly hot Young and Smart team. Young and Smart got 21 from Ryan Mellone and 13 from Everyday Erich Slagel.
BOHICA 73, Youngbloodz 67
A shorthanded BOHICA got hot in the second half as Ryan Sheehan (28 points) and Sam Longwell (24 points) coupled to lead the offensive charge. On the defensive end the play of Ryan Flynn helped corral the Youngbloodz offense. Youngbloodz got their scoring from Ian Converse with 14, Dan Main with 13 and Jeremy Bacon with 13.

Doug Roberge (18 points) and Ryan Bellan (11 points) paced the Chargers in their 5th straight win. Cold Blooded was lead by Nick Brown with 10.

Stifling D and timely scoring from Dom Mastascusta (13), Eric Guglimello (15) and David White (13) spelt a victory for Leftover. The Movers got 17 from Jesus Trejo.

The Framingham duo of Arch Mitchell (19 points) and Alan Williams (22 points) carried the day for nWo. Sutton got their scoring from Kevin Rommermich with 15 and Frank Brogie and Jim Donnelly with 12 a piece.

Whitewater grabbed their third win as Matt Gustas (31 points) and Jon Macs (20 points) shouldered the scoring load. Airport got 28 from Stef Mascrirelli and 20 from Bob Perrette.

The action shifted indoors as the Wet Bandits found their way back into the winners circle with 28 from Drew Rolfe leading the way. Dave Douilette got his 20 and Kevin Bresciani added 13 in the W. 508 had Andrew Calzone hot early... he ended with 13.

In a shootout of 1980s Western Conference proportions. The Birdmen outlasted The Montstars. Sam Fanfan (28 points) lead the way as Jay Snow kicked in 25. The Monstars got offense from Daquan Antoine with 23 and Jake Ramos with 18, Julio Leon also kicked in 17. The Birdmen clinch the 1 seed in the South bracket.

The Birdmen continue their dominance of the Southern Division as Sam Fanfan (28 points) and Jay Snow (23 points) lead an offensive outburst against Young and Smart. Andrew Calzone had 15 in the defeat.

The shooting of Brian Conrad (17 points) and the dominant play of Dom Mastascusta (26 points) lead Leftover to their 4th straight victory. Airport Video got 23 out of Bobby Perette and 20 out of Tyler Hundley in the loss.

Whitewater was lead by the flying Musler Brothers...Andrew had a game high 29 and Sam added 18, the 'Water boys also got 21 from Matt Gustas. The Youngbloodz got 21 from Dan Main and 20 from Jeremy Bacon including 2 LOUD dunks.

BOHICA outlasted a depleted Wet Bandits team in the 5 PM game. Derek Retos had a game high 34, while Ryan Cain added a workmanlike 20 and Ryan Sheehan chipped in 18. The Bandits were bolstered by the BVBL return of legend Brian Whitten with 10.
Madmen 67, nWo 57
The Madmen got 16 from Dave Farrer and Pat Luckett (17) was huge down the stretch as the Madmen got a huge division win. nWo was paced by Arch Mitchell with 18 points.
Sutton TBA 81, Monstars 75
Rich Harrington (25) and Matt Soule (15) paced Sutton TBA from outside while Jim Donnelly (16 points) drove the bus as Sutton TBA snuck by The Monstars. The Monstars got an elite scoring performance from Daquan Antoine with 33 and got 23 from Jake Ramos in the loss.

Arch Mitchell (31 points) lead nWo to their 2nd straight win to run their record to (2-1). Bob Chalmers added 13. Joey Mespelli (31 points) lead the attack for the Amigos who are now (1-3).

Utilizing a remarkably balanced attack The Madmen improved to (2-1) on the young slate. Pat Luckett and Chris Farrer had 12 each. Cold Blooded got 14 from Marc Gomes as they fall to (1-2)

The undisputed game of the night. Sutton started hot behind the shooting of Matt Soule (19 points) and the aggressiveness of Jim Donnelly (17 points). However the veteran Birdmen team paced by Sam Fanfan's 24 points and Chris Pinsonault's 12 and the defensive play of Niko Bryant carried the day with a 62-60 win, leaving them as the only undefeated team in the South. Sutton TBA falls to 2-1.

The Youngbloodz withstood an offensive onslaught by Airport spearheaded by Stef Mascirelli with 31 points and Liam Pickett with 27. Youngbloodz (2-1) however made plays down the stretch with Dan Main (37 points) and Connor Costello (14) leading the charge. Airport falls to 0-3.
BOHICA 78, Not Your Average Movers 57
BOHICA's balanced attack lead them to 3-0. Ryan Sheehan and Zach Valliere both had 16 and Derek Retos added 14 in the W. The Movers (2-1) were lead by Jesus Trejo and Colin London with 14 each.

Jake Ramos got the Monstars into the win column with a 29 point outburst. Brandon Morales kicked in 19 as well. Salt and Pepper were lead by newcomer Josh Osipitan with 18 points and Ryan Hill with 14

Behind 11 points from Conlin Potsma, 11 from Joey Saster in his BVBL return and 10 from Jake Rawlings...Salt and Pepper opened it up in the second half and defeated The Amigos for their first victory of the year. The Amigos were paced by 18 from Ben Reiffarth in their first defeat.
Birdmen 54, Cold Blooded 46
Brian Foley (22 points) and Sam Fanfan (16 points) lead The Birdmen to their second consecutive victory in the 2 PM tilt. Jon Hazzard (18 points) kept Cold Blooded (1-1) in it, but there was too much Birdmen (2-0) firepower on this day.

An early season North Division battle was taken by the Youngbloodz behind 17 from newcomer Dan Main and 14 each from Evan Lerner and Jeremy Bacon. The Youngbloodz grab their first win on the young season. The Bandits were lead by Mike Dzicek who had 22 in the defeat. They fall to 1-1

Expansion Airport Video was paced by Tyler Hundley with 14 and Stef Masicrelli with 11 as they fell in the 4 PM game to the offensive balance of BOHICA (Airport is now 0-2). BOHICA's balanced attack saw Eddie Capstick with 17, Derek Retos with 16, Ryan Flynn with 17, Joey McCann with 18 and newcomer Sam Longwell with 16. Hard to get much more balanced than that. BOHICA is now 2-0.

Great candidate for game of the day! The Madmen (1-1) got stellar player from Pat Luckett (17) and Mike Keefe (19), but The Chargers (1-1) got some clutch play down the stretch from Doug Roberge (21 points) and held on for the victory.

Young and Smart (0-2) hung around for 30 minutes, but a 18-2 run by Sutton blew the game wide open. Young and Smart were paced by Erich (mid range) Slagel with 14. Sutton TBA's balanced attack was spearheaded by Gordie Smythe with 21 and Jim Donnelly with 16. They are now 2-0.

The Arkansas Amigos kicked off the 2015 BVBL slate with a hard fought win in the 1 PM game. Benny Reiffarth had 22 in the win for the Amigos, while veterans Brian Collins and Mike Howe chipped in 9 each. Young & Smart was paced by Ryan Mellone with 16 and Erich "The Pirate King" Slagel with 14.
BOHICA 69, 508 Athletics 47
508 Athletics got 18 from Cory Pryor and 13 from Corey Gomes to stay tight early, but the defending champs BOHICA blew it open in the second half. Ryan Sheehan (31 points) and Chris Burton (13) lead the way for BOHICA in their first victory of the young season.
Sutton TBA 74, Chargers 52
Sutton TBA (who is rolling with that for a name apparently) burst onto the BVBL scene behind 20 from Gordie Smythe, 20 from Matt Soule and 19 from Frank Brogie. Showing the kind of ball movement that only dudes that have played together a lot show, they dispatched The Chargers in the 3 PM game. Doug Roberge had 23 in defeat, while newcomer Ryan Bellan had 24.
Wet Bandits 70, Airport Video 65
The venerable Wet Bandits used their size and savvy to get their first W of the year. Dave Douillette had 22 for the Bandits and Justin Aldrich added 17. Expansion squad Airport Video showed themselves to be a formidable test behind 21 from Tyler Hundley and 18 from sharpshooter Bobby Perettte.

Jake Rawlings was the lone bright spot for Salt and Pepper with 11 points in the 5pm game. The Birdmen were paced by hall of famer Sam Fanfan with 21 and new addition Chris Pinsonault with 15.

Expansion squad Cold Blooded was lead by Jon Hazzard with 18 and Sean Calnan with 13 as they got their first BVBL W. The revamped nWo squad was paced by newcomer Paul Kampersal with 18 in his BVBL debut and Tom Casey with 13 (mostly from downtown)

The game of the night did not disappoint! Not Your Average Movers jumped out to a double digit lead, before the Youngbloodz came right back to close the gap. The Movers however would outlast them late. New pickup Colin London had 20, Brandon Jones chipped in 18 in his return from injury, and Dan Koen had 15. The Bloodz were paced by Evan Lerner with 21 points and Ian Converse with 12.

Leftover Lasagna is on the board with their first W of the year. They utilized a balanced attack that saw Jeremy Ross (12), Matt Labove (11), Eric Gugliemelo (12) and Dom Mastascusta (12) all shoulder the offensive load at different times. Whitewater made their return to BVBL with 18 from Andrew Musler and 12 from Matt Gustas.

In the nightcap the Madmen bolstered by newcomer Pat Luckett (12) as well as hall of famer Dave Farrer (12) and BVBL vet Mike Keefe (10) got on the board with their first W. The Madmen were bolstered by the play of Mike Keefe (17 points) and Dave Farrer (13 points) and got back in the win column with the 9pm win. Andrew Calzone had 24 for Young and Smart while Erich "Lou Diamond Phillips" Slagel had 9.

Mike Keefe (11), Jason Beard (10) and Pat Luckett (8) lead the charge for the Madmen. The Amigos 2nd win may keep them out of the Mega Bowl!

Despite 27 points from Jessy Michaud- Salt and Pepper fell to the suddenly hot Young and Smart team. Young and Smart got 21 from Ryan Mellone and 13 from Everyday Erich Slagel.

A shorthanded BOHICA got hot in the second half as Ryan Sheehan (28 points) and Sam Longwell (24 points) coupled to lead the offensive charge. On the defensive end the play of Ryan Flynn helped corral the Youngbloodz offense. Youngbloodz got their scoring from Ian Converse with 14, Dan Main with 13 and Jeremy Bacon with 13.

In a shootout of 1980s Western Conference proportions. The Birdmen outlasted The Montstars. Sam Fanfan (28 points) lead the way as Jay Snow kicked in 25. Whitewater was lead by the flying Musler Brothers...Andrew had a game high 29 and Sam added 18, the 'Water boys also got 21 from Matt Gustas. The Youngbloodz got 21 from Dan Main and 20 from Jeremy Bacon including 2 LOUD dunks.

BOHICA outlasted a depleted Wet Bandits team in the 5 PM game. Derek Retos had a game high 34, while Ryan Cain added a workmanlike 20 and Ryan Sheehan chipped in 18. The Bandits were bolstered by the BVBL return of legend Brian Whitten with 10.

The Madmen got 16 from Dave Farrer and Pat Luckett (17) was huge down the stretch as the Madmen got a huge division win. nWo was paced by Arch Mitchell with 18 points.

Rich Harrington (25) and Matt Soule (15) paced Sutton TBA from outside while Jim Donnelly (16 points) drove the bus as Sutton TBA snuck by The Monstars. The Monstars got an elite scoring performance from Daquan Antoine with 33 and got 23 from Jake Ramos in the loss.

However the veteran Birdmen team paced by Sam Fanfan's 24 points and Chris Pinsonault's 12 and the defensive play of Niko Bryant carried the day with a 62-60 win, leaving them as the only undefeated team in the South. 508 Athletics got 18 from Cory Pryor and 13 from Corey Gomes to stay tight early, but the defending champs BOHICA blew it open in the second half. Ryan Sheehan (31 points) and Chris Burton (13) lead the way for BOHICA in their first victory of the young season.

Sutton TBA (who is rolling with that for a name apparently) burst onto the BVBL scene behind 20 from Gordie Smythe, 20 from Matt Soule and 19 from Frank Brogie. Showing the kind of ball movement that only dudes that have played together a lot show, they dispatched The Chargers in the 3 PM game. Doug Roberge had 23 in defeat, while newcomer Ryan Bellan had 24.

The venerable Wet Bandits used their size and savvy to get their first W of the year. Dave Douillette had 22 for the Bandits and Justin Aldrich added 17. Expansion squad Airport Video showed themselves to be a formidable test behind 21 from Tyler Hundley and 18 from sharpshooter Bobby Perettte.

Expansion squad Cold Blooded was lead by Jon Hazzard with 18 and Sean Calnan with 13 as they got their first BVBL W. The revamped nWo squad was paced by newcomer Paul Kampersal with 18 in his BVBL debut and Tom Casey with 13 (mostly from downtown)

The game of the night did not disappoint! Not Your Average Movers jumped out to a double digit lead, before the Youngbloodz came right back to close the gap. The Movers however would outlast them late. New pickup Colin London had 20, Brandon Jones chipped in 18 in his return from injury, and Dan Koen had 15. The Bloodz were paced by Evan Lerner with 21 points and Ian Converse with 12.

Leftover Lasagna is on the board with their first W of the year. Dave Douillette is one of the most decorated double threats in the league history. Seeing great success as a player (league MVP in 2014 and 2011) as well being named First Team All League in both those seasons. Also he was honored as the league's Captain of the Year in 2014 and 2013 (when he lead The Wet Bandits to a title). He played for the Championship Worcester West team in 2010 and was named Playoff MVP. He also captained The Bandits to a Championship game appearance in 2012. Elected to the BVBL Hall in his first year of eligibility...Dave Douillette.
Justin Aldrich, Player
BOHICA 2008-2011, Wet Bandits 2012-Present
Simply put Justin Aldrich is one of the league's premier winners. A member of the league since it's inception in 2008 he has played for two of the league's flagship franchises and earned three championship rings (2013, 2009, 2008), while also reaching the finals two other times (2012, 2011). An All League selection in 2008 and 2010 and a decorated 7 year veteran. Justin Aldrich.

Jeremy Bridge has been a fixture in the BVBL since the league's formation in 2008 when he played for the Flint Tropics. In 2009 he assumed control of the Banner Bar franchise that would become The Birdmen. In that time- he has consistently put a winning team on the floor and managed a series of strong personalities. He captained the Birdmen to the 2011 League Title. A 7 year veteran he is still effective as a player specializing in toughness and mid range shooting. 2015 Hall of Famer Jeremy Bridge.
Brian Collins, Player
Flint Tropics 08, Banner Bar/Birdmen 09-11, Amigos 12-Present
Arguably the league's all time games played leader. Brian Collins has been a BVBL fixture for 7 years. A tenacious defender and steady floor player has been recognized as a First Team All League Player (2008) and all Defense Member (2014). More than his tangible awards though, you would be hard pressed to find someone who plays harder- in fact the pole pads introduced in Season 2 were pretty much because of Brian. What's more he is always wiling to hop in for a team that is short on guys, and has actually been playoff eligible on teams he's not rostered on at times. BOHICA 62, Youngbloodz 50
The 7th BVBL season ended as 3 had previously as BOHICA fought it's way to a title. The Youngbloodz gave the new champs everything they could handle and are surely a young squad that will be heard from for many years.
The early story story for BOHICA was Chris Burton (12 points, 9 blocks) who immediately was a force on the defensive end altering and blocking shots. However Youngbloodz settled in and as a Connor Costello layup tied the score 9 minutes in. BOHICA would answer with a run as Ryan Flynn (6 points) did a great job involving his teammates and Michael Palumbo knocked down a few threes.
BOHICA would cruise into a 9 point halftime lead. Youngbloodz would not go away however as Mark Devries (12 points) had 4 threes to keep the Bloodz in it. They locked the game in a deadlock with 7 minutes to go. Eddie Capstick (14 points) scored in transition and yet another Mikey Palumbo (16 points) three gave BOHICA a 5 point lead they would never relinquish. A few Ryan Sheehan buckets pushed the lead to as much as 13 to offset the scoring of Evan Lerner (11 points). As BOHICA hung on late for their fourth championship.
This is BOHICA's 4th championship and 6th finals appearance in 7 years. Joey McCann and Anthony Leonelli claim their 4th title to pass Justin Aldrich (BOHICA/Wet Bandits) into first place all time in BVBL history. Ryan Cain claims his second title as does Derek Retos (not dressed tonight) and Eddie Capstick, Ryan Flynn, Mike Palumbo, Ryan Sheehan and Chris Burton claim their first title.
The Youngbloodz finish their successful season at 9-2 they will move from the South Division to the North Division next season and will surely be heard from in years to love.
Chris Burton was named Finals MVP and Eddie Capstick was named Playoffs MVP due to his 17.3 PPG playoff scoring average.

100 Institute Road: WPI Basketball has a lot of irons in the fire in this matchup. The Youngbloodz utilized the outside shooting of Mark Devries (19) and the athleticism of Ian Converse (19) to erase a 14 point deficit and become the second ever South team to reach the semis. Jeremy Bacon had 15 as well for Youngbloodz as a Connor Costello runner forced OT at the horn. A depleted TC Performance team was paced by Arch Mitchell with 15 and Colin London with 15.

Not Your Average Movers utilized a balanced attack after losing Quincy Nunnally early the game and lead by as many as 11 at various points. Junior De La Hoz (13 points) and Dan Schweitzer (10 points) lead the charge but they also got excellent guard play from Stevie Martinez and Chris Vasqeuz. BOHICA would not go away as Ryan Cain (21 points) and Ryan Flynn (10 points) kept them fighting. Finally a Derek Retos 3 with around a minute to go put BOHICA up 3 and they would never relinquish they lead. They advance to the finals for the 6th time in 7 years.

Leftover Lasagna would soldier back behind the play of David White (8 points) but Jeremy Bacon (19 points) and Mark Devries (16 points) had an answer each and every time as the Youngbloodz win their 2nd game in the night and become the first south team to reach the finals.

Dan Schweitzer (10), Dan Koen (11), Quincy Nunally (12) and Hector Heredia 10 also had double figures. Doug Roberge had 14 for The Cellar Dwellers. Anthony Weeks had 13 in the loss.

In a 1990s Eastern Conference rockfight. The new kids on the block Leftover Lasagna beat the Wet Bandits. Leftover Lasagna was paced by Eric Guglimello with 16 and Matt Labove with 13. The Bandits had trouble getting it going offensively but Jakyri Simpson had 13 and Dave Douiliette had 10. This ends a tremendous 3 year run for the Bandits which saw them in the championship game in 12, win the title in 13 and compete again this year. One of the best run teams in the league.

BOHICA jumped out to a 15-2 lead which would have prompted noted MC Nelly to proclaim "andele andele mama EI EI uh-ohhhhhhhh" Ryan Sheehan had 22 and Eddie Capstick 27 to lead the charge while 508 was paced by Corey Gomes with 18 and Darren Desena with 15. A good year for 508 comes to an end with them having had to deal with a lot of injuries.

Dan Schweitzer had 14 fresh off his all league selection and Junior De La Hoz had 10. For The Replacements Nate Smithson lead the scoring charge with 24 while Erich Slagel added 15.
(S3) Cellar Dwellers 69, (N6) Gratata 66
Gratata fell short but finished a successful first behind the scoring of Cory Pryor (25 points) and Tyler Delory (24 points). The Cellar Dwellers got productive afternoons about of Doug Roberge (19 points), Anthony Weeks 15 points and Josh Euglow (10). They fight their way into the quarters as 1 of 2 south representatives.

MVP Dave Douliette had 19 and Joey Laroche chipped in 16 as the Wet Bandits advanced to the farmiliar territory of the quarters. Joey Mespelli (18) and Bob Cahill (16) lead the charge for F&W.

Matt Labove (18 points) and Jeremy Ross (17 points) lead the charge for Leftover Lasagna along with Chad Labove (3 missed dunks and a lob thrown over the backboard) as LL cruised into the quarters with a win over the Shockers. Jake Ramos concluded a stellar first BVBL campaign with 22 and Julio Leon had 16.

Cory Gomes (22 points) and Dan Tessier (18 points) lead the charge for 508 as they advance to the quarters. Chris Foley also had 14 in his return game from injury. The Amigos were lead by a turn back the clock performance from Anthony Leonelli who had 16 and Kyle Minton with 18. The Amigos conclude a successful season in style.

Sweaty Bettys end an impressive inaugural campaign by giving TC Performance a run in the 7 PM game. Jessy Michaud had 40. TC Performance, gelling at the right time, were lead by Terrell Newton who controlled the game and had 26. Lloyd Kennedy added 15 and Tom Casey chipped in 12. The TC gang advances to the quarters.

A tight game with 5 to play in the first half quickly snowballed out of control as Derek Retos (39 points) got hot and Ryan Sheehan (19), Ryan Cain (15) and Eddie Capstick (19) all got going for BOHICA. The Madmen were paced by the ageless Dave Farrer (17) and Cory Szklarz (13)

2014 Awards are in. As always the awards are voted on by the league board who see just about all the games along with the input from league captains- you must be playoff eligible to be considered for awards. Also a BVBL "Rookie" is defined as someone who has never played in the summer league previously.
